MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's second open house for their Vision Zero Action Plan was held at the Mitchell Street Library Tuesday night.

This is a project by the city of Milwaukee to make the streets safer and eliminate traffic deaths by 2037.

Community members gave around 50 ideas, and today, they narrowed down those options.

"We believe that transportation shouldn't be a dangerous activity, it can be safe," said Jessica Wineberg, Vision Zero policy director. "We're working on it. We're making great strides and we want to do more things to get all the way to no one dying or having a serious injury on our roadway."

These ideas range from expanding traffic calming measures, establishing a Traffic Safety Unit, and more.
