VISIT Milwaukee preview: March 1-3
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The first weekend of March has a loaded schedule of events, and Ian Thompson of VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Thursday, Feb. 29 for an overview of what to expect.
Bust-N-Stuff and Torzala Brewing Company are joining forces at the Lincoln Warehouse to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention on Saturday, March 3. The fundraiser, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., invites attendees to engage in "Buster Art" creation and enjoy local craft brews, with a family-friendly atmosphere that supports suicide awareness and prevention efforts.
Discovery World aims to empower future female leaders in STEM with the Girls & STEM event, also on Saturday. The event will feature over 20 exhibitors providing hands-on STEM activities and demonstrations, alongside a Women-Owned Businesses Makers Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., encouraging girls to explore and aspire to careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
The Milwaukee County Zoo is inviting families for a day of free admission on Friday, March 2. The Family Free Day invites guests to visit various exhibits, including the Small Mammals Building and its prehensile-tailed porcupine, Guillermo.
Radio Milwaukee presents the State of Sound concert on Friday at the Walker’s Point Studios. The evening will showcase local talent, featuring performances by Lauryl Sulfate and Her Ladies of Leisure, Shontrail, The Hatchets and Adorner.
