Visitor drowns in swimming pond at Fond du Lac County campground

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office says a man has drowned after becoming trapped underneath an inflatable floating dock in a swimming pond Thursday, Aug. 10. 

Officials say the individual -- identified Friday as 39-year-old Paul Becker -- was visiting Breezy Hill Campground, in the Town of Byron, with an organization that works to support people with intellectual and development disabilities. 

First responders were called to the scene around 5:49 p.m., and members of the sheriff's office dive team entered the water to begin search efforts. An unresponsive man was recovered in 10 feet of water just before 6:30 p.m. 

He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. 

The incident remains under investigation.
