MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new piece of art is now at the 3rd Street Market Hall in Milwaukee. Its name? Wall-E.
Sculpture Milwaukee hosted a commissioning ceremony for Wall-E, which was created by the UWM School of Architecture, and it's part of a larger "Dear Nature" exhibit which features art from Milwaukee schools. That includes the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, UWM and MSOE.
One of the event organizers says the exhibit shows how art can be used in hospitals to comfort patients during a difficult time.
"The more that things can be soothing, you can use art to calm the mind, and those types of things are really what we're after," said Jerry Jendusa, owner of BreakThrU Vendura.
The students and faculty from these schools created this art in response to last year's exhibit, "Nature Doesn't Know About Us," which was meant to show how humans and nature interact.
