MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 32-year-old man wanted in connection to a homicide was arrested following a high-speed chase near Brady Street Wednesday morning.

Nearby business owner Todd Dunsirn witnessed the pursuit.

“You could almost feel the car go by, and then you could hear the sirens and the cop car chasing him,” said Dunsirn.

He spends most of his days getting ready to open his business, the Deep Groove, on the 1200 block of N. Farwell Avenue. On Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m., the security cameras outside his building captured the high-speed pursuit.

“That’s just somebody who’s not thinking of anybody or anybody else but themselves,” said Dunsirn.

Milwaukee police say officers were on the 800 block of N. 6th St. when they attempted to stop a 32-year-old man wanted in connection to a homicide. The driver refused and began to speed down Brady Street.

“I felt more disturbed later in the day when I was driving down the street, just knowing how fast that he was going,” said Dunsirn.

MPD says the driver lost control and collided with a tree on the 1500 block of N. Farwell shortly after and was arrested following a brief foot pursuit. Dunsirn says he’s grateful no one was hurt during the chase.

“The traffic gets too crazy and there’s just too many pedestrians and people walking in the street,” said Dunsirn.

Police say charges are being referred against the driver of the vehicle to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
