NOW: Waukesha boy’s playhouse turned into potting shed store as grandma embraces his love for plants

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Liam Wolter of Waukesha shares a love of gardening and flowers with his grandma. Together, they grew it into something beautiful that they could bond over.

It started with an old playhouse he had in his backyard getting no use. Liam, Grandma Angie Wolter gave it a face lift with big flowers, new curtains, and a lot of color.

They’ve called it “The Potting Shed” and together Liam and his grandma sell plants, seeds, bird feed and more out of his new shed.

Each one has a personal touch with old tea pots or plates.

“We're just having a very good time, and it's fun to see him talking to the neighbors when they come to buy his stuff,” said Angie.

Liam is often sitting in honoring shed waiting for customers. He’s ready with his homemade gardening decor, plants, and a lot of conversation.

“It just started like a little tiny baby flower, and it was already growed a little,” said Liam showing us around his shed. “And now look how big that one growed. But at night the bird flew by these seeds and popped the bag open and got them.”

When Liam isn’t in his shed, he’s often sitting in the back painting railroad spikes.

“These are lady bugs, and I have frogs, flowers, and a rainbow one is up there and the American flags. I like the frogs because some has the tongues going all over the place catching bugs,” said Liam.

His potting shed is located on the 900 block of Oakland Ave in Waukesha. If you don’t catch Liam, you can scan a QR code or leave cash in his cashbox in the shed.

“We take it for going all the way on an airplane to South Carolina,” said Liam.

His grandma has loved watching his love for gardening bloom.

When asked why Liam loves plants and gardening so much, Liam gave two reasons.

“It's because they're like so beautiful. Because they're looking like... cool,” he said.

And what’s cooler than a summer making memories with grandma.
