Waukesha County's top chefs return for fifth annual 'Unwrapped Waukesha'
CBS 58 WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha County's top chefs are back for another year of turning fast food into gourmet creations!
It's the fifth year of 'Unwrapped Waukesha,' where chefs take ingredients from McDonald's to create original appetizers, entrees and desserts.
Sunday, Feb. 22, event was hosted at the Carriage House in Lac La Belle.
Money raised at 'Unwrapped' will go to SHARP Literacy, a Milwaukee based non-profit working to improve K-5 education.
"The past five years we've raised over $100,000 just 'Unwrapped Waukesha'," said Lynda Welsh, president and CEO of SHARP. "So, it's amazing and we'll be able to use the proceeds to continue to provide experiences and our programming in the Waukesha School District."
This is the fifth year for 'Unwrapped' Waukesha, and the tenth year since 'Unwrapped' Milwaukee began.
So far, SHARP has raised almost $600,000!
Sunday's event was also hosted by a familiar face; our Amanda Porterfield was there to emcee!
She introduced the chefs and interviewed them about their menus.
