WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Wauwatosa man who's made more than 160 blood donations was rewarded for his life-saving generosity on Friday, Jan. 13.
Shawn McKenna's is a world-class blood donor with donations equaling 39 gallons over the years. His name was entered in Versiti Blood Center's "Drive to Save Lives Sweepstakes," and he won!
McKenna says he wasn't even aware of the contest.
This is the second time Versiti has held a car sweepstakes.
"This is our way to show our gratitude, this is our way to add a little bit of extra inspiration to show the blood donors how much we care about them and how important they are," said Gitesh Dubal, executive vice president of Versiti Blood Center.
"I try and donate platelets every two weeks at the Wauwatosa donor location. Something I kind of look forward to doing and enjoy doing," said McKenna.
McKenna says he gets a lot of promotional notifications from Versiti and he usually doesn't pay much attention to them. But he will now.
