MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brewers' postseason ended in a 5-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks Wednesday night.

As the Brewers loaded the bases in the eighth inning, the sold-out crowd was on its feet. But when the rally fell short, the exodus began, and thousands of fans headed for home.

Many shared their disappointment on the way out.

"It was a great season, this just sucks. Nothing else you can say, it just sucks," said Brewers fan Patrick Gatton.

It was a tough end to the season for Brewers fans out at American Family Field.

"I think we're going to have to capitalize on our moments," said Nakia Willis. "I think that's the difference in that series. We didn't capitalize on the moment, and it was on the dead. It's a little tough, but we'll be back next year."

"I think they're a good team, I just think the Diamondbacks played pretty well," said fan Keith Hopkins. "Sometimes you just can't get it done, you know?"

“Super exciting. Unfortunately, they couldn’t pull it off. It was like the whole season went down the drain. But it was exciting to see them get that far," said Sarah Ruffert of Franklin.

Diamondbacks fan Tom Kimbro said, “I enjoyed the Brewer fans in there, as well. They’re deep in the game, and I am glad to be there with them for part of it.”

When asked about Craig Counsell coming back, fans had mixed reactions.

“I really hope he comes back. I love Counsell, I really do. I gave him grief all the time, but I love him. He’s a good guy, he’s a good coach," said Brian Flood of Milwaukee.

Aaron Prohuska of Menomonee Falls said, “I don’t know with Craig. He’s a good manager over the grind of 162 games, but when it comes to clutch time, we haven’t seen it.”
