WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A convicted felon is arrested in West Allis after police say they found a loaded AR-15 and drugs in a car that fled from officers.
Police say an officer was on a routine patrol when he tried to pull over a car for several traffic violations near 70th and Greenfield.
The vehicle sped away from officers and police then used stop sticks to disable the vehicle's tires. Police say the car stopped after about a 2-mile pursuit.
Inside the car, officers say they found a loaded AR-15 5.56mm rifle with more loaded magazines as well as marijuana and cocaine that was packaged for sale. They also found a digital scale and a large amount of cash. Officers believe the suspect was impaired by drugs and/or alcohol.
Police say the case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges.
