Village of Whitefish Bay passes mandatory mask mandate

WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Whitefish Bay Village Board on Thursday, July 23, passed an ordinance requiring anyone older than 5 years to wear a mask indoors in public buildings.

In the surrounding area, Milwaukee and Shorewood passed mask ordinances that have already gone into effect.

WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Whitefish Bay's Village Board meets Thursday, July 23, to vote on a mask mandate proposal.

It's called a "temporary ordinance," and it would require anyone five years old or older to wear face coverings indoors in public buildings.

The village manager would enforce the ordinance and violators could face fines from $50-$500.
