Wisconsin Department of Revenue urging families to apply for $100 child tax rebate soon

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is urging those eligible to file for their $100 per child sales tax rebate.

Those claims must be filed for July 2 and DOR says no extensions will be given.

An estimated 670,000 households with 1.22 million children are eligible.

"The clock is ticking, and only days remain to claim the Child Sales Tax Rebate," said Department of Revenue Secretary Richard Chandler. "With the coming weekend, we don't want people to forget and miss the deadline. After July 2, we are unable to accept claims, so if you're eligible, don't wait."
