In response to the attack, the Iranian regime has launched an unprecedented wave of strikes across the Middle East, targeting several countries that host US military bases.
In a statement, Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin said in part,:
“President Trump illegally bombed Iran, totally disregarding the Constitution, putting American troops in harm’s way, and starting another war in the Middle East with no end in sight," said Baldwin.
“Have we learned nothing from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Doubling down with another open-ended war without realistic goals or a strategy to win is not only foolish, but also recklessly puts Wisconsin’s sons and daughters at risk."
And on the other side of the aisle, Republican Senator Ron Johnson reacting to the attack on 'X', offering his blessings for the troops:
Meanwhile the Liberation Party of Wisconsin is denouncing the attack on Iran:
President Trump campaigned on ending forever wars. Any slide into conflict with Iran would be a grotesque repudiation of that promise, handing victory to the very neocons and Israeli/military contractor lobbies that libertarians have fought to purge from influence for decades. We reject this globalist perversion outright. Libertarians demand that we come home: slash the welfare-warfare state, restore sound money, and let Israel sort out their own affairs without dragging us into their quarrels."
