Wisconsin sees one COVID-19 death as variant cases grow statewide

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Saturday's report from the Department of Health Services shows 450 new COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin on March 27.

Meanwhile, the state report shows the COVID death toll increased by one. This brings the total number of deaths to 6,598.

There are also now 81 confirmed variant cases statewide.

There are 78 cases of the UK variant and two cases of the South Africa variant.

On Friday, Wisconsin reported the first known case of variant P1, also known as the Brazil variant.
