MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Preparation work begins the week of Oct. 5 on a pavement replacement project along about 9.8 miles of I-43 Rock Freeway between WIS 83 and Bowers Road in Waukesha and Walworth counties, according to Jason Roselle, engineering chief with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, who joined us Friday, Oct. 1.
Major construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027 and wrap up in summer 2029. Periodic overnight lane and ramp closures will continue through November to build emergency pullouts, temporary shoulders and widened ramps, along with roadway, bridge, drainage and safety improvements.
Drivers headed to American Family Field for Brewers games this weekend should still allow extra time, though no overnight closures are planned on I-94 near the stadium.
