Sheriff's Office identifies woman killed in house fire near Beaver Dam

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The woman killed in a house fire just west of Beaver Dam has been identified.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says 82-year-old Eleanor Neumann died from her injuries at a local hospital following the house fire.

A man in his 90's was also hurt but he is expected to be okay.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 85-year-old woman is dead and a 92-year-old man is recovering following a house fire in Beaver Dam.

The fire happened around 10:25 p.m. on Thursday in the N7000 block of Watercress Lane in Beaver Dam.

When the Beaver Dam Fire & Rescue Department arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke and fire on the first floor.

A 92-year-old man was able to exit the home and a Dodge County Deputy was able to rescue an 85-year-old woman from the home. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

No firefighters were injured.

One deputy was treated for smoke exposure.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
