Woman hit by car in Village of Sussex, seriously injured

SUSSEX, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 57-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car in the Village of Sussex Tuesday evening.
It happened on Waukesha Avenue around 5:39 p.m., according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.
The driver, a 50-year-old woman, stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital by Flight for Life.
Authorities say the area will be shut down for multiple hours. The incident remains under investigation.
