Women's Mountain Bike Day Social Ride Saturday at Heritage Trails in Slinger

SLINGER, Wis (CBS58) -- On the day before Mother’s Day, a International Women’s Mountain Bike Day Social Ride is scheduled to take place at Heritage Trails County Park in Slinger.

Event hosts Metro Mountain Bikers, Milwaukee Trail Advocates and Washington County Parks and Trails seek to welcome more women into the sport of mountain biking.

The social ride takes place on Sat., May 7 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and features a 12:30 p.m. skills demonstration by Brooks Adventures. The Little Switzerland food truck will be serving onsite alongside 1840 Brewing Company. A fundraising raffle of prizes donated by Wheel & Sprocket, Liv Bikes, Little Switzerland and other local businesses will take place at 3:00 p.m.

The Heritage Trails mountain bike routes opened in the fall of 2021 and have grown to encompass a network of more than three miles of singletrack winding through the forested Kettle Moraine landscape and also includes a jump line for those daring enough to catch air.

Organizers request that attendees planning to ride complete a registration form in advance here and note that any riders under the age or 16 are required to have a parent or guardian present.

Heritage Trails County Park is located at 4668 County Hwy E, Slinger, WI 53086.  A daily or annual park trail pass fee is required and can be paid online up to 10 days after one’s visit.
