Wisconsin Women Fish: How one female captain is turning the tide
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — An 11-year-old boy is dead, and a 4-year-old is in the hospital after a fatal crash Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28, according to Milwaukee police.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 11-year-old Jamario Johnson.
Officials said the child was in a car driven by a 30-year-old who had some kind of medical episode. He lost control of the car and hit a tree. It happened just after 4 p.m. by N. 76th St and W. Bobolink.
The scene was blocked off with red crime tape as police and the medical examiner responded before the car was towed away nearly two hours later.
A CBS 58 crew said pieces of the car and shards of broken glass remained at 9:30 p.m., and that the base of a nearby tree was damaged from the crash.
A 4-year-old was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. That child was taken to Children’s Wisconsin and is said to be in stable condition.
The driver was taken into custody, and charges are pending review by the Milwaukee Co. District Attorney’s Office.
A previous version of this story indicated the victim was 12 years old. Authorities have since update the age to 11.
