MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A second person has died after a rollover crash on Milwaukee's south side.

Milwaukee police say they were called to the scene near 36th and Mitchell shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Sadly, we've learned the two people killed were mother and daughter.

Family tells CBS 58's Pavlina Osta they are in disbelief and heartbroken.

"We don't want people to think she's a bad person we don't want people to say that about her she's such a good person she still is a good person," said Ashley Burris, family of the victim.

Orange spray paint marks the path the car took before hitting a rock in the roundabout, when it lost control and it a tree.

The victims have been identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as 61-year-old Venus Harding, and 34-year-old Chauntelle Anthony.

Family says Harding died at the scene and Anthony passed away Monday from her injures.

Burris says they were at a bar that night and on their way home they weren't wearing seatbelts. They were both thrown from the car on impact.

"We recognize that there are a lot of things that play a part in car accidents I think me getting into the car these past couple of days, I've told my kids more put on your seatbelt because it matters," said Burris.

Milwaukee police say speed was a factor in this crash.
