Man sentenced to 35 years for crash that killed his 2 sons
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner confirms 13-year-old Jamarri Paige was shot and killed near 47th and Fiebrantz Sunday night, Feb. 19.
It happened around 6:32 p.m., when a neighbor says the child was getting ready for dinner.
The 13-year-old boy died at the scene from his injuries.
A neighbor who heard the gunshots that night said his mother ran out of the home and said her son was shot in the head.
"All I heard her say was, 'please, somebody, somebody help my baby. They shot my baby,'" said the neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous.
Paige was allegedly getting ready for dinner when shots rang out from outside the home.
"She said actually he was getting ready to eat when the bullets came up to the house. Whoever did it, they shot through the house, got out the car and shot some more."
"I was sitting on my porch and I heard gunshots. A whole lot of gunshots, dozens of them," said the neighbor.
The teen went to Hartford Elementary school. MPS released this statement, saying:
“Whenever an incident happens in the community that could affect our students and families, MPS has resources available for anyone who needs support."
This is an ongoing investigation and police are looking for unknown suspects.
