21-year-old fatally shot near MSOE identified, suspect charged

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 21-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with felony murder in connection with a shooting that left another man dead.
According to a criminal complaint, surveillance video captured the shooting that happened on July 19.
Raymond Wilson, 21, was killed.
Investigators believe Dominec Gaines was responsible for the shooting.
The criminal complaint says, Gaines told investigators he picked up Wilson from work
Video reportedly shows Gaines point a firearm at Wilson, and multiple muzzle flashes were visible.
Gaines is due in court for an initial appearance on July 23.

MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- The victim who died following the Saturday, July 19 shooting near Milwaukee and Juneau has been identified as 21-year-old Raymond Wilson of Menomonee Falls.

MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 15-year-old was injured and a 21-year-old killed after a double shooting near the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) campus during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 19.
Officials say the shooting happened at around 2:10 a.m., near Milwaukee St. and Juneau Ave. A CBS 58 crew on the scene saw over a dozen evidence markers on the road.
The 21-year-old victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The 15-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Those who live nearby, like Jacob Eckberg, voice their concern over safety, saying, "I moved out here 4 years ago and it seems year after year it gets worse. This time of year, you never know. You think it’s just fireworks, and more often than not, it’s not fireworks anymore. I try not to go out when it’s past midnight."
The crime scene was between MSOE student housing and their public safety building. In a statement, MSOE says, quote: "We are saddened to share that early this morning, a shooting occurred near campus on Juneau Avenue. No members of the MSOE community were involved in the incident."
MSOE Students like Benjamin Marfoe say they confide in their public safety officers, "it’s happened before, we’re standing right next to public safety right now, I'm really good friends with a lot of them, I trust them to keep us safe, they’re always there when you need them."
Milwaukee police have not made any arrests as they continue to search for a suspect.
