WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An armed robbery occurred at a business near 57th and Burnham in West Allis overnight. 

Police say the business reported a man entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded cash from the register. 

A suspect and a vehicle were identified and officers attempted to perform a traffic stop but a pursuit ensued. 

The pursuit ended and police say the suspect fled on foot, but after a brief foot chase, the suspect was apprehended near 25th and Pierce. 

Police identified the suspect as a 39-year-old man from Muskego. 

He was taken into custody for armed robbery, eluding an officer and recklessly endangering safety.
