5 more days to sign up for Cedarburg Children's Theater classes ahead of Sleeping Beauty performance
CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Cedarburg Children's Theater puts on four shows a year. Beth Albright is the owner and director of the theater. Her goal is to help every kid shine by giving them a stage and spotlight.
"We want to make sure they understand, if this is where their heart is, they can do this," said Albright.
Registration for the next show, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is now closed, but tickets to see the show will go on sale Oct. 1.
The next show kids can be a part of is Sleeping Beauty. Registration will open at the end of October and usually fills up within hours.
The academy has grown since its first performance in 2017. Back then, it had just 25 performers and a couple hundred tickets were sold.
"These kids are mostly elementary school. All 90 children and grinch are all elementary school and I'm so proud of them, because I think if you give a child a chance and tell them that they can, then they can and they do," said Albright.
The classes give kids like Liam Halula improv and confidence skills.
"I was confident before, but now I'm really confident. It just helps me, it gives me a lot of friends and it's like a mini community," said Halula.
The last performance was Charlotte's Web, and it just wrapped up in August.
Each kid has at least 10 lines in every show.
