MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 6-year-old was transported to a local hospital and a 34-year-old was arrested after a crash on Wednesday, April 3.

It happened around 8:35 a.m. near 27th and Cleveland. 

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, a silver Nissan disregarded the red light and struck a blue Dodge. 

A passenger in the Nissan, a 6-year-old, was transported for life threatening injuries and is in critical condition.

The driver of the Nissan, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested. 

According to MPD, criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days.
