BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Another inspiring story of a patient beating COVID-19.
Seventy-nine-year-old George Dimitropoulos was released from Ascension Elmbrook in Brookfield Friday, May 15.
He was sent to the ICU after feeling chest pains, chills and other coronavirus-related symptoms.
George said he couldn't have survived without the help of all of his nurses and doctors at his side.
"The help, it was great. Thank God I'm alive. And God bless everybody. God bless everybody," he said.
At one point during his hospital stay, staff members allowed his family to see him for emotional support.
His daughter believes that's what helped him push through to recovery.
