9-year-old on bike struck by vehicle in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department responded to a report of a child that was struck by a vehicle on Sunday, Oct. 1.

The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. near 84th and National. The 9-year-old child was attempting to cross the street on a bicycle and was struck by a vehicle. 

The child sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local medical facility. 

According to police, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, but a 73-year-old male was arrested for an OWI.
