Abandoned boat removal will cause temporary closure to portion of Lincoln Memorial Drive May 6

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A portion of Lincoln Memorial Drive will be temporarily closed Tuesday, May 6, to assist with an effort to remove the abandoned boat known as "Deep Thought" from Lake Michigan.
According to Milwaukee County Parks, both northbound and southbound lanes of Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed between Lafayette Hill Road and E. Water Tower Road from early morning to late afternoon.
Detours will redirect traffic westbound at both intersections.
Milwaukee County Parks says weather and wave conditions affecting the boat's recovery could change the timeframe of the closure.
The Northpoint parking lot will also be closed at this time.
Milwaukee County Parks says they'll be working with the sheriff's office to restrict access to the extraction site to ensure public safety.
