MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A busy afternoon at Lakefront Brewery, as the Milwaukee staple hosted their 5th annual Maifest.

Despite the chilly weather, a few thousand people showed up to enjoy all things gluten free.

40 plus vendors and food trucks lined commerce street, with everyone offering everything completely gluten free.

"Usually, you have to like search for the specific spot you can go at a festival, but knowing everything's like safe here is great," said Garrett Kostrova.

And others enjoying all the treats they normally don't get to indulge in everyday.

"There's certain things as gluten-free that you miss," said Shantelle Cipinko. "So, I've already hit the empanadas. I'm gonna be all over the fried chicken and waffles, having a good beer."

Maifest also featured live music and activities, such as German dancers, and the March of the Doxies, a Parade of Dachshunds.

The event also served as release party for two new gluten-free brews, pouring up a total of 10 different gluten-free drafts and casks.
