MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A recent study estimates that we spend an astronomical $9 billon on unwanted gifts every year, and more than half of us will get at least one unwanted gift over the holidays.
It didn't take us long to find people in Milwaukee who could relate.
Sylvia said a necklace she received from her then boyfriend was so ugly that she "lost" it on purpose.
Jackie told us that she's STILL mad about a Zimm Zamm game she got from her parents.
"My sister probably got like a diamond ring or a diamond necklace," she said, "so there you go mom and dad, I just said it on the news, I got zimm-zammed!"
If the study is true, many of you will be "zimm-zamming" your loved ones this holiday season. Brittany Mandeldove, a manager at Von Maur in Brookfield, says when looking for a gift it is okay to ask for advice.
"We are seeing that foot traffic come back, they want to interact with our associates they want to know what's new, what's happening, what are the kids wearing," she said.
Mandeldove showed us some ideas that Von Maur is recommending this season, see that in the video below:
