Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Bittle
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — It's the annual trek, usually in early June, to the UW-Eau Claire campus, made by 700 young men going into their high school senior year.
They go for the Badger Boys State, or BBS, program. This event, sponsored by the American Legion, just had its 82nd session.
They say it's a life-changing experience, and every single attendee we spoke with couldn't agree more. Civics and companionship are two components of this weeklong gathering. They learn how our government works and the value of being involved. Scholarship money helps the kids attend. The chosen students are typically nominated by a teacher, counselor, or another student.
