MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Santa Claus came early for some hometown children this year.
The annual breakfast with Santa Claus took place on Saturday, Dec. 16. Besides having breakfast with Santa, the kids got to decorate cookies, jump in a bouncy house, and receive toys from the secret Santa room.
The event was in honor of Sergeant Krasean Clayborn who passed away while serving in the United States army in Italy in 2018.
"On the 20th on his birthday, he would get the big Christmas items then on Christmas day he said he wanted the small toys because it was Jesus's birthday. So, in his honor we do this to celebrate him and help keep his memory alive," said Dee McCollum, director of the Martin Luther King Jr Community Center.
McCollum said the event is also in honor of her other son who passed away this summer to cancer.
