On today's date, January 17, back in 1982 Milwaukee hit its coldest temperature ever recorded. The low temperature that day dropped to -26*. That's the air temperature without any wind chill! We actually hit -26* again 14 years later on February 3, 1996.
As we remember that historic cold we have another cold blast of air coming later this week. Monday temperatures won't be too bad with highs in the middle to upper 20s. Thanks to a brisk wind it will feel more like the teens all day.
Tuesday will actually be slightly mild in the 30s but then an arctic front rolls through dropping our temps into the teens for afternoon highs on Wednesday and Thursday. Low temps during this time will hover around 0*. A breezy wind will easily make it feel like the teens or 20s below-zero.
