Another suspect charged in connection with kidnapping of 7-year-old Jamal White in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with the kidnapping of a 7-year-old Milwaukee boy. Fabian Johnson is facing one count of kidnapping, as party to a crime.
Jamal White was the subject of an Amber Alert after he was abducted at gunpoint while riding his bicycle on Hustis Street, near 60th and Good Hope on July 11. He was found unharmed the next day in a home near 39th and Lloyd.
Corey Williams, 25, is also accused in connection to the case; he's facing charges of kidnapping (as a party to a crime), taking hostages (as a party to a crime) and contributing to the delinquency of a child (as a party to a crime).
Prosecutors say another person involved in the kidnapping, a 14-year-old, was also arrested.
According to a criminal complaint, Williams told investigators that about two weeks prior to July 11, he'd been contacted by someone who wanted to rob Jamal's mother. Williams told investigators he picked up the other individual in a white Jeep and removed its license plates. He said he, along with two others, brought guns along, with a plan to go to the mother's home and rob her at gunpoint.
Williams told investigators when they got to the residence, they waited but never saw the woman, so they decided to rob Jamal's father instead. He said he was driving the vehicle, and his two passengers ran out of the car with guns toward the father. One of them then grabbed Jamal and took him into the Jeep.
Court records show Fabian Johnson was arrested on July 15. A review of his cellphone, according to a criminal complaint, says Johnson and Williams shared numerous calls on July 11, and July 12. Surveillance video also reportedly showed Johnson getting into the white Jeep at Williams' residence just prior to the kidnapping of White.
A judge has set Johnson's bond at $200,000. He's due back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 24.
