MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) — A Wisconsin appeals court has denied an attempt by the father of the Abundant Life Christian School shooter to have the criminal charges against him dismissed.
Jeffrey Rupnow had asked the appeals court to throw out the charges he faces, but the court rejected the request, allowing the case to move forward in Dane County.
Prosecutors allege Rupnow supplied the firearm used by his 15-year-old daughter in the Dec. 16, 2024, shooting at Abundant Life Christian School.
The shooting claimed the lives of 14-year-old student Rubi Vergara and 42-year-old teacher Erin West. Six other people were injured before the teenage shooter died by suicide.
The criminal case against Jeffrey Rupnow will now continue in Dane County Circuit Court.
