MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An Appleton native made history Monday afternoon, Aug. 26.

At Monday's Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays game, Danny Jansen was credited with playing for both teams -- something no major league ball player has ever done before.

Here's how it happened: A game between the Red Sox and Blue Jays was suspended on June 26 in Boston due to weather. Jansen was a member of the Blue Jays at the time.

But about a month later, the Appleton West High School graduate was traded to Boston.

The suspended game was finished Monday.

So, Jansen started the game as a Blue Jay and finished it as a Red Sox catcher.
