Back to the 80s today followed by our next rain chance
The last time Milwaukee saw a high temperature in the 80s was almost a month ago on August 22 as the one day with temperatures not below average during our 28-day cooler streak. Today we are looking to change that with a forecasted high this afternoon likely to touch 80. This would put us now with 4 days seeing above average high temperatures. Despite our average high continuing to drop almost every day during this month, we do still look to stay with temperatures at or above average for at least the next week. We will, however, start to feel about a 10 degree cool down by the end of this week as a wind change moves in bringing us a northerly wind heading into the weekend, which will be associated with our next chance for rain.
Quiet and clear conditions will hold through tonight with clouds gradually increasing by daybreak tomorrow. Clouds continue to thicken up tomorrow with a chance for a passing shower, but most of us still remain dry. A better chance for rain will return Saturday, primarily in the evening with the chance for thunderstorms. At this time, it does not appear to be severe, but lightning, some gusty winds, and heavy downpours are possible at times. Rain chances will hold through the end of the weekend with the chance for a passing shower through the start of the next work week.
