The line of severe storms ahead of the cold front did quite a bit of damage across the Badger state, especially from La Crosse to Green Bay. Wind damage wasn't as widespread in southeast Wisconsin, but a number of trees and powerlines were knocked down in areas north of I-94.
The storms slowly tracked over the same locations before sunset, so there was also quite a bit of flooding in areas north of I-94. Most of those locations picked up 1-2" of rain, but Watertown picked up nearly 6 inches!
The storms have moved out and the humidity will be following suit today. You'll still notice it during the morning hours, but it'll be more comfortable by this afternoon. Comfortable humidity levels continue through the upcoming weekend.
Although it'll be less humid today, it's still going to be rather warm with highs well into the 80s to around 90 degrees. Cooler temperatures settle in by the weekend with many spots struggling to warm out of the 60s on Saturday.
The cool weather on Saturday will be thanks to a northeasterly wind, but at least by then the wind will be light. Plan on gusts of 30-45 mph today with gusts of 20-25 mph on Friday.
Heat and humidity will return by early next week so get out and enjoy it while it's gone!
