Ben Franklin Crafts, largest independently-owned craft store in SE WI, closing its doors

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After 46 years, Ben Franklin Crafts located in Oconomowoc, will close its doors. 

"We are sad for our Ben Franklin family, for our customers and the community, but after watching the trends of brick and mortar retailing and exhausting other options, renewing our expiring lease was just not the right choice," a Facebook post from the craft store reads in part. 

Ben Franklin Crafts announced their last day of business will be Oct. 3. 

Rep. Barbara Dittrich reacted to the news saying the city won't be the same.

Ben Franklin Crafts is encouraging customers to stop in and take advantage of markdowns and sales going on before they close for good.
