Biden-Harris campaign hosts conference in Waukesha ahead of former president Trump's visit

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The former president's upcoming visit prompted the Biden-Harris campaign to hold a press conference in Waukesha Wednesday, May 1.

Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez was joined by local leaders in criticizing the former president's views on abortion and other issues central to his campaign.

"I think he's worried that he is losing voters in Waukesha, and he is, because of his extreme views on abortion, because of his extreme views on many other things," said Rodriguez. "So he is trying to come here to shore up some support here in Waukesha, but I know my neighbors, my friends are going to reject that extremism. They are not going to vote for Donald Trump this November."

Waukesha and the rest of the state of Wisconsin remain crucial battleground areas for both parties ahead of November.
