Local workshops aim to make biking more accessible for people of all ages and abilities
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A pair of upcoming free local workshops is aiming to make biking more accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
It's a partnership between Bublr Bikes and the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin. The workshops will teach cycling safety, hand signals, and how to use adaptive bikes for people with disabilities.
The Annual Walk and Bike4Friendship fundraiser will kick off Sunday, June 28. It's a family-friendly event with proceeds going to the Friendship Circle to support their mission of inclusion for those with disabilities.
“I think that it’s very important for the community to support this because it’s supporting itself. The community is supporting the needs of other parts of the community that are definitely out there, and unfortunately, the world of disabilities is growing as well, so there are more and more people every year that live with disability," participant Jeff Gorelick said.
The first informative workshop is April 19 at the Friendship Circle and the second is May 14 at Wheel and Sprocket in Bay View. For more information, click here.
