Bobby Portis gets competitive to kick off Feeding America’s annual PB&J Challenge
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For 23 years, Feeding America has held its annual PB&J Challenge in February. They’re challenging the community to help raise 1 million peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or the equivalent, this year.
Bobby Portis joined Feeding America on Thursday, Feb. 5, to face off against four local kids in a PB&J sandwich making competition.
“I had stiff competition, you know, they were prepared and ready to beat me. They did whatever it took to win, too, so gotta shout-out the competition,” said Portis.
He’s partnered with Feeding America for the last four years to help them reach their goal.
“I’ve been in Wisconsin since 2020 and I’ve been giving back a lot here— it’s dear to me. I feel like I’m low-key from here, for real,” he said.
With a little on-court banter and a stack of bread, the kids tried to score against Portis.
