Brewers alumni to compete in postgame Home Run Derby at American Family Field

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Home Run Derby featuring former Milwaukee Brewers players will be held after the team’s game against the Miami Marlins as part of the 25th season celebration at American Family Field on Friday, July 25 following the 3:10 p.m. game.
The Brewers announced Wednesday, June 18 that Ryan Braun and Carlos Gómez will serve as team captains and select their rosters playground-style from a group of alumni that includes Yovani Gallardo, Bill Hall, Corey Hart, Casey McGehee, Nyjer Morgan and Eric Thames.
Former coach Ed Sedar will pitch, with George Kottaras catching.
Each player will have two minutes to hit as many home runs as possible, with golden balls counting triple in the final 30 seconds. The two individual leaders will advance to a final round.
Gates will open at 1:40 p.m. and fans in attendance can participate in a variety of free activities throughout the day, including autograph sessions from 1:50 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. and photo opportunities with alumni. The Brewers Team Store will offer a 25 percent discount on select items and concessions will feature $2.50 draft beers and brats until first pitch.
