Brewers at Wrigley Field: Fans lick their wounds after loss to the Cubs, look ahead to Game 5 in Milwaukee
CHICAGO (CBS 58) -- Despite the Brewers game four loss in Chicago, many fans who made the trip to Wrigley Field told CBS 58 they’re confident the team will win back home in Milwaukee Saturday, Oct. 11.
We talked to many fans in Chicago before, during, and after Thursday’s 6-0 loss.
It was a packed house inside Wrigley Field, where many Brewers fans cheered on the crew, but even outside, hundreds of fans watch the game on a big screen TV.
After the loss, thousands of Cubs fans were excited, well, Brewers fans licked their wounds.
Brewers fan Jay and Steve drove in from Milwaukee for the game. Jay told us “That was rough, but you know, it’s all love.” Steve said, “We could have done better, but it is what it is.”
Brewers fan Ben said it was a tough game to watch. “That could’ve been a lot better,” he told us.
And Thomas told us, “The atmosphere in the stadium was electric. Brewers fans showed out. I think we have game five locked down.”
There was a lot more confidence earlier in the day before the game started.
Tom Landgraf has been a Brewers season ticket holder since 1970. He said this Brewers team is successful because “They have a lot of confidence in one another. They played together as a team. They don’t seem to get down if one guy drops the ball. They seem to play together as a team.”
Matthew Brandt is a Brewers fan who flew in from Seattle. He told us, “I just like what Murphy brings to the team. And I think everyone has the confidence that he brings.”
And Chris Fortney drove in from Indianapolis. He said, “I think last night [game three] was a gift to Craig Council for all the things he did for us in Milwaukee and I think that gift is now over and done so will win tonight.”
