PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS 58) -- Here at Brewers spring training, life goes on. They're taking batting practice on the first full squad day of camp. But they are definitely missing Bob Uecker.

Brewers Principal Owner Mark Attanasio spoke about the gaping hole in the organization that will be emotional to fill. Especially on Opening Day.

"You could feel Ueck's presence in the clubhouse today," Brewers Principal Owner Mark Attanasio says. "I felt it. Murph talked about him. And we talked about, you know, losses and started with the loss of Ueck. And he will for sure will be with us this year."

CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allan asked that last game. "I think people knew and everybody kept it quiet. What is that going to do for everybody going forward?"

"You know, the thing about Ueck was that his voice, if you listened to his voice the last game and you walked through the stadium even, it was as strong as ever," Attanasio says. "If you look at a photograph of him versus six months before, versus six months before that, you sort of knew and I think there were a number of tears in the clubhouse after the loss to the Mets. Probably more because of thinking that this might be it with Ueck, and you know, not the way you wanted to go out. But you know. Nobody went out like him. What a life!"

Attanasio added that the Brewers will honor Bob Uecker early in April at the Miller High Life Theater in an invitation only event. In late August at the ballpark, and throughout the season to commemorate his legacy.
