Brewers swept in opening series

CBS 58

NEW YORK (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers started the 2025 season with a series to forget getting swept on the road in three games by the New York Yankees. Milwaukee's banged up pitching staff could not a barrage of home runs from the Bronx Bombers who tied an MLB record with 15 homers in the first three games of the season.

The latest loss came Sunday afternoon by a final score of 12-3. Jake Bauers did homer in the finale while Sal Frelick continues to stay hot at the plate with two more hits including an RBI single.

The Brewers will host the Kansas City Royals Monday at 1:10 p.m.  in the home opener with Elvin Rodriguez starting what should be a "bullpen game" for Milwaukee.
