Details announced for the 10th annual Mayor’s Masked Ball fundraiser
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's the season of giving back, so the Milwaukee Bucks and Levy are teaming up for another year to distribute Thanksgiving meals to Milwaukee firefighters.
Tuesday morning, firefighters went to Fiserv forum to pick up their turkey dinners.
The meals also include gravy, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, roasted vegetables, stuffing, cranberry relish and seasonal pies -- all donated by Gordon Food Service.
"On Thanksgiving, we know they're serving our community, and this is a fun way we can help serve them."
"We're honored and fortunate to serve the city of Milwaukee," said Deputy Chief Darin Peterburs. "We do it every day of the year, and holidays are no different, but it is nice when we come in and we have a meal provided for us. It's one less thing we have to worry about so that we can provide the service to the people that need us the most."
More than 500 pounds of turkey will be donated to all 29 fire stations.
