Bucks unveil new Bronzeville-inspired uniform celebrating 'bringing people together'

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have showcased a new alternate jersey set to be worn during the current season, unveiling the "Gathering Place" edition uniform on Thursday, Nov. 10.

The uniform aims to highlight the impact of sports bringing people together and the importance to the Bucks using their platform within the city to showcase the interconnection between the communities of Milwaukee.

Bronzeville was the push behind the art of the uniform, drawing direct inspiration from Ammar Nsoroma's Patchwork Mural on North Ave. With the Bronzeville community being physically reconnected to downtown through the Deer District neighborhood, the Bucks say that the pattern serves as a "symbol of unity and the Bucks' role weaving together Milwaukee's unique communities."

The primary color featured on the uniform is Great Lakes Blue, a color that was added to the team's color palette in 2015 to celebrate the city's connection to Lake Michigan and the three rivers that run through Milwaukee.

Dustin Godsey, Chief Marketing Officer for the Bucks said that the organization is proud of the role they play in bringing Milwaukee and the entire state of Wisconsin together.

Longtime Bucks fans will also appreciate the multiple shades of green which are a direct homage to the Bucks' "Irish Rainbow" uniforms of the '70s and '80s.

The uniform will be debuted on Wednesday, Nov. 16 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and will also be featured at every Wednesday home game through the 2022-23 season.
