RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A full Thanksgiving feast was served at Festival Hall in Racine on Thursday, Nov. 27. Doors opened at 10 a.m. and throughout the day they served thousands. It’s a traditional Thanksgiving meal with stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey, cranberry sauce and more.
Thanksgiving Racine was formerly Dan and Ray Rendering Thanks. Dan and Ray have taken a step back, and they’re letting Catering by Danny handle the operations.
“One year turned to 15. It’s time to put the reins into somebody else’s hands. It was a hard decision, we weren’t really quite sure how to do it," said Dan Johnson.
The doors closed at 1 p.m. The entire community was welcomed to attend and have a plate to eat with the community or take it to go.
“It’s just the feeling of the goodness. It just hums in the air, you can feel it. It feels just almost magical,” said Johnson.
This is the 16th annual event.
