CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Providence officials said they are releasing the person-of-interest, a 24-year-old man from Wisconsin. In a press conference late Sunday night, officials said they were headed in one direction but had to regroup. "Until recently, that evidence now points in another direction. That person of interest needs to be released. This is unfortunate that this person's name was leaked to the public."
Several sources from CBS and CNN released the identity as the 24-year-old Wisconsin man, but Providence officials said they are now looking for the actual shooter.
This is an ongoing investigation, follow CBS 58 for more updates on air and online.
We have taken out the released person-of-interest's name, identified by CBS and CNN sources, since the Wisconsin man is no longer a suspect.
